I Love My Church
OK, get over all of your "holier than thou" comments about how it's Christ's church and we are the church so we can't really have a church... blah, blah, blah. I know and if you know me, you know that I fully embrace all of those things and try to live that way.
Here's my thought: we all belong to certain communities of worshippers because we love something or some things about those particular congregations and their expression of faith in Christ. I thought it might be a great thing to just share those things with one another.
This isn't a "Hooray for EPIC" post. I know that some of you out there are regular participants in other church bodies and I this is about what you love about YOUR church body. Obviously, I'm pretty partial to epic and so as to not start off this chain with a tainted slant toward the church I pastor, I'll save my comment for later.
So, click on the comment link below and tell us why you love your church.

I love my church because of the people and the vision of the pastor. He preaches a very "meaty" message every week. Our church has as it's primary vision to equip and disciple the saints as well as bring others to Christ.
I LOVE THAT!
BTW, you've been there... I need some constructive feedback...
I love the nursery! Remember, Pastor Bruce, when I only loved the babies? Well God's been working on me and I love the parents too-even the newbies! :o)
This is from my friend ANNIE PHIPPS. She posted it to facebooks and I'm putting it here.
"i love the people in my church, they are friendly and welcoming and most of them are new christians so they are full of new life!!!! i love it!!"
I LOVE wildwood calvary chapel because the people there are excited to be in the word not just on Sundays but at home on their own. The church believes in raising the kids up to know Gods word and to be able to share it with the community and on mission trips and I LOVE that the people there love to serve and it shows. They serve because they "get to" not because they "have to." Ok, I could go on and on but the last thing is Pastor Chris reads from and teaches directly from the word and expects us to bring our bibles and know what he is talking about every week. Fun post Bruce thanks!
Well here goes, i love my church because of a freedom i felt the first time i came to EPIC. And i have learned in my life that giving freedom for someone to choose, is LOVE. Because GOD loved me enough to give me free will, and not force anything on me. I am so glad to have become friend's with many people that i have gotten to know at Epic. And yes i'm the big 50 now. But i am still screwing up at times even at this age. Oh, by the way i do listen to third day and i plan to go to the concert in May. Stone cold that's a inside joke at the (pen) (work place). GOD is truely great all the time. GOD BLESS!
I love my church for to many reasons to mention, so here are just a few:
1)The people here except me for who I am....just the way God does.
2)They have hearts as big as the universe and reach out to others in need....just the way God does.
3)I have a pastor that is open and honest with us and lets us know his human side...even when it's not pretty!!!
4)I think the biggest and best reason is.........We bring our worship to EPIC with us, and God meets us there!!!
Thank you Lord, for giving me EPIC!
I have been given to opportunity to grow, fail, teach, be taught, breathe, and be open with others. I can openly discuss my thoughts about Christianity no matter how ridiculous (or seemingly heretical) with other disciples who trust that our God is still working in all of us, even in us heretics. :)
Hi Bruce! I love my church (trinitydallas.com) because...
1) I have authentic relationships with authentic believers in Jesus, who are willing to be transparent and walk through the ups and down of life with us.
2) I'm challenged to let God have "all" of me. And to love Him & let him love me more deeply all of the time.
3) We (our church family) have a heart for the entire world. Overseas missions is a big heart throb of mine & my hubbys.
I adore my church for so many reasons...
My pastor, who is faithful to His giant calling and to the group of people who wouldnt be the same without him! (I know he must be exausted.)
My life group, which has truly become the best part of my week! Being able to go through this crazy life with people my age who are passionate about Jesus, Being free to ask tough questions, disagreeing with the person next to you, learning to be vulnerable, and finding real acceptance and relationships. (And bike riding!)
I love the sense of urgency to love people around us that I feel at my church, and feeling challeneged as I walk out the doors every week.
I could go on forever...It has been exactly what I have been praying for for so long!
